Lucas Meyer Cosmetics Acquires innoVactiv's Cosmetic Ingredients Portfolio

This acquisition will help Lucas Meyer Cosmetics consolidate its position in the industry and its R&D unit in Quebec.

Quebec, QC, April 11, 2012 - Lucas Meyer Cosmetics, the business unit of the Unipex Group and leader in the field of innovative active ingredients, functional ingredients, and delivery systems for the cosmetics industry, is acquiring the cosmetic ingredients portfolio from innoVactiv inc. that it has been marketing worldwide.

The two companies have been working together since 2005 developing many of the cosmetic active ingredients in Lucas Meyer Cosmetics' portfolio. With this acquisition, Lucas Meyer Cosmetics now owns the intellectual property rights for active ingredients it had already been commercializing can streamline procurement and has more developmental flexibility going forward. The operation is directly in line with the Lucas Meyer Cosmetics' growth strategy as it demonstrates a drive to speed up growth for its proprietary products as well as maintain and promote scientific cosmetics development in the Quebec region.
